Fire up the light-sabers, simply because “Star Wars 3D” is going to be happening. Digital 3-d formatting is going to get applied to each “Star Wars” motion picture within the series. Lucas film is taking their time, but the very first could be out in 2012. The films are coming out in chronological order. The last three films that could be launched in the 3-dimensional run will be the original trilogy, so the prequels will naturally be first.
‘Star Wars’ 3-D finally achievable
Hollywood has exploded with three dimensional films, or rather giving the illusion of three dimensions. ”Avatar” and “Clash of the Titans” are just two of the biggest hits to have come out in both two dimensional and three dimensional versions within the last few years. The technology has come out to help make “Star Wars” 3-d with George Lucas and Industrial Light and Magic. Lucas film said, The Telegraph reports, that the job will not be done super easily. The series is legendary, and each and every possible detail will be scrutinized so the new three dimensional presentations will only improve upon the series.
Can easily see the very first one in 2012
”Episode 1: The Phantom Menace” could be the first “Star Wars 3-D” movie to be released. The series can be released within the chronological order of the story. There is no exact launch date set yet. A release date in 2012 is the goal so far. The Hollywood Reporter tells us that 3-dimensional technology is something George Lucas may still have to be convinced of. However, viewing the film “Avatar” changed his mind. Nobody knows the time length between releases yet.
Making theaters all have the capabilities
Currently, not enough theaters have 3-D capabilities. However, 500 are adding 3-D capable projectors per year. Theaters are starting to realize the importance of 3-dimensional functions. More films appear to be coming out in 3-D. It is not known whether “Indiana Jones” or the “Clone Wars” DVD series will get 3-dimensional updates for theatrical release.
